A dedication to the protection of Cayuga Lake through a vibrant celebration of Ithaca’s legendary reggae community and its history. For the last 30 years, Ithaca and surrounding Upstate NY communities have been nationally recognized as an epicenter of Reggae music due largely to the vision of Reggae enthusiast, John Peterson, owner of the "Green Street Haunt", and the nationwide success of local powerhouse John Brown's Body. June 24th will be the first Saturday of Summer in Ithaca, NY, and we're forecasting a beautiful day to celebrate and educate at Stewart Park. Friends of Cayuga Lake is partnering with community water protectors: Cayuga Lake Watershed Network, Finger Lakes Land Trust, Community Science Institute, Floating Classroom, New Roots Charter School, Plastic Tides, and more to raise awareness about the restoration and protection of the lake. The day will start with meditation and yoga to set the intention of the festival with the annual 108 Sun Salutations ceremony from 10AM-NOON. Following will be an all-star lineup of Upstate NY’s finest reggae musicians from NOON-8PM.
