The play Eurydice written by Sarah Ruhl will be performed in the Flex Theatre at the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts, 430 College Ave., Ithaca. The production will be directed by Cornell PMA Professor David Feldshuh.

In original Greek mythology, Orpheus is a legendary musician, poet, and prophet and major stories about him are centered on his ability to charm all living things with his music and he evens tries to use his music to bring his wife, Eurydice, back from the dead.

Eurydice 'retells the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of Eurydice, his wife. The story focuses on Eurydice's choice to return to earth with Orpheus or to stay in the underworld with her father (a character created by Ruhl).' [Wikipedia]
